Lake Hayes House is a calm and contemporary lakeside villa that has elegance and poise, overlooking the tranquil waters of Lake Hayes.

The form of the building is derived through the construction of a strong stone base which sits firmly on the ground and provides a wide level platform for the placement of a much lighter floating structure.

The upper floor incorporates the main bedroom and effectively provides a one level dwelling for the two main occupants of the house. Additional accommodation for the wider family is provided on the lower level.

The colours and materials of rock, sandstone, marble and blackened metal form the fabric of the house which is carried throughout the exterior and interior surfaces of the dwelling.
