Clearwater Quays
Clearwater Resort, Canterbury
The residential development for 16 apartments at Clearwater Quays was an instant success. The aim of the development was to enrich the already high standard of architectural and urban design of Clearwater.
For the Clearwater Quay development the buildings have been separated into combinations of single, double and triple groupings of apartments. This reduced the scale of the building blocks and increased their visual interest, vitality and charm. The separations also provides space for landscaping between the structures, and allow sunlight to enter into the driveways and forecourts of the dwellings.
"The golf course and the 8-hectare lake are the big drawcards. But, so, too is the architecture.
Each home has a traditional gabled roofline that is echoed by the boathouse on the lake, which can be used to store canoes and sports equipment, or as an office, playroom or studio. Or it can simply be used as a trout fishing hut.”
